Barbara Campbell-Antoine, LCSW    Licensed Clinical Social Worker

As a young child growing up on the Island of Jamaica, W.I., I recalled being the person who was asked to talk to others who were experiencing difficulties.  I was told by my parents and siblings that the neighbors liked to talk to me because I made it easy for them.  As a teenager, my friends seemed to confide in me more than others that we were friends with.  During breaks from school, I would facilitate reading clubs and the adults in my area would rely on me to keep their children occupied and out of trouble.  This was my induction to the helping profession, although, at the time I was not aware of it. I migrated to the United States as a young adult and immediately began my college career.  I attended the City University of New York (CUNY) and graduated from New York City Technical College with an Associate in Science in Liberal Arts, York College with a BSW and Hunter College School of Social Work with a MSW.  I now hold a LCSW in NJ.

I have worked in this field for over 25 years in NYC and currently in NJ.  I have managed numerous programs, supervised many staff with varied levels of education and counseled countless number of clients during my 25 plus years of work. I have been trained in Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and I am very skilled in these two Evidenced-Based Practices.  I have been very successful in helping my clients restore hope and meaning to their lives.  I have assisted in the restoration of many families, helped many adolescents in navigating difficult situations in their tumultuous lives and facilitated healing and recovery for people suffering from mental illness.  I am passionate about promoting hope and positive expectations in the lives of my clients.
